Certification and license lookup/verification: For those seeking recertification of EMT or Paramedic only, the Bureau now offers an eLicense portal to process recertification applications. The status of a license or certification is also available through the portal (requires First and Last Name, Application Level, and Date of Birth.)

- It is recommended to begin the recertification process three to four months prior to your expiration date. (i.e. December prior to expiration year)
- Submit the application and fee to the address on the application.
- Application processing takes approximately four to six weeks. If your application is incomplete, your renewal may be return or delayed.
Fees and Payments
- All applications shall be submitted with appropriate fees and any additional fines or fees required.
- Fees may be paid by cash, business check, credit/debit or money order. Personal checks are not accepted.
- A Provider Reinstatement Fee shall be applied – in addition to all other applicable certification costs – to those EMS personnel recertifying with a lapsed or suspended Mississippi Certification.
Mississippi EMS fees are established to maintain or increase funding for the licensing, certifying, investigating, monitoring and conducting other required activities to ensure public health and safety for Mississippians needing emergency medical services. The fees calculated do not exceed the estimated cost to the Agency for performing licensing, certification and other regulatory duties.
