JACKSON, Miss. — After months of harmonious planning, the Be in Good Health Symposium and Gospel Choir Competition is happening Saturday, April 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jackson Convention Complex.
The first-of-its-kind event, sponsored by the Mississippi State Department of Health’s (MSDH) Office of Health Equity and the Community Engagement Center of the Jackson Heart Study, will bring together informative TED-style talks from health experts, free on-site health screenings and a Who’s Who of gospel choirs competition for a day designed to inform, entertain, enlighten and empower.
The competition will consist of at least eight choirs: Anderson United Methodist Church Praise Team, Pastor J. Artie Stuckey & VOR, Jemero Carter & Kingdomology, I Love Me Ministries, New Horizon Children’s Ensemble, Revival Worship of Jackson Revival Center, DOXAMUZIQ, and White Oak United Methodist Church.
Health screenings begin at 8:30 a.m. The competition and symposium will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The JCC is located at 105 East Pascagoula Street in downtown Jackson.
