The Mississippi Health Alert Network (MS-HAN) rapidly communicates information about urgent public health incidents to health care professionals and hospitals in the state.
Health Alert Categories
- Alert: conveys the highest level of importance; warrants immediate action or attention.
- Advisory: provides important information for a specific incident or situation; may not require immediate action.
- Update: provides updated information regarding an incident or situation; unlikely to require immediate action.
- Information: Provides general health information for situations not considered urgent.
Who Can Receive Notices
MS-HAN participants may be health professional or key personnel in health-related organizations. We currently reach:
- hospitals
- health care providers
- public health professionals
- long-term care facilities
- emergency management organizations
Receive MS-HAN Notices
Sign up for MS-HAN notices by filling out our online registration form. Please be prepared to provide the following information:
- Name
- Phone
- E-mail address
- Area of Occupation
- Specialty
Once you are registered, you will begin receiving alerts and advisories. Remember to set your e-mail system to accept messages from our e-mail broadcast service, Juvare.
Changes to your information: Write to the MS-HAN coordinator at MSDH.HAN@msdh.ms.gov to make corrections or changes to your information.
