A New Statewide Health Assessment

Over the next several weeks, MSDH and its project partners will engage health stakeholders — both organizations and professionals — to gather the knowledge and experience of people working in Mississippi's healthcare and public health systems.

Combined with updated health data, this assessment will help identify current and emerging needs, gaps in access and services, challenges, disparities and opportunities to strengthen health and healthcare across the state.

We Need to Hear From You

Data alone cannot tell the full story. The experiences of healthcare providers, facilities, professionals, associations, community partners, and others are essential to understanding what is happening on the ground. Stakeholders will be invited to participate in:

  • Regional town halls and listening sessions;
  • Key informant interviews;
  • Targeted surveys; and
  • Stakeholder and steering committee discussions to review findings and help identify priorities and strategies.

If you or your organization are invited to participate, please lend your voice to this effort.

Broad participation will help ensure that this assessment reflects conditions throughout all of Mississippi, including rural, urban, underserved and historically underrepresented communities.

From Assessment to Action

Findings from the Statewide Health Assessment will serve as a foundation for Mississippi's new Comprehensive State Health Plan to establish priorities and actionable steps for improving health outcomes, strengthening access to care, and supporting the long-term capacity of Mississippi's healthcare and public health systems.

Your Voice Matters

Please participate when invited, share engagement opportunities with your colleagues and members, and help ensure that your community, profession and region are represented.

Thank you for your partnership and for helping shape Mississippi's health priorities for the future.
