JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) Opioid and Substance Use Disorder Program has partnered with the Mississippi Public Health Institute to host "Every Response Matters: Building Pathways to Recovery in Mississippi" on Friday, September 25 in Biloxi.
The engaging, one-day Recovery Summit will bring together cross-disciplinary professionals from healthcare, law enforcement, the court system, faith-based organizations, public health and the recovery community. Participants will explore strategies for breaking down silos, strengthening collaboration, reducing stigma, and developing a continuum of care from first encounter through long-term recovery.
The program will feature presentations and panel discussions from nationally recognized addictions and recovery experts, who will discuss topics including:
- Peer support
- Healthcare
- Faith-based initiatives
- Law enforcement and corrections
- Court systems
- The recovery continuum
- Public health and safety teams
Professionals in healthcare, mental health, courts/legal, government, peer support, faith-based organizations, law enforcement, emergency response and recovery are encouraged to attend the event, which is funded by the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program.
