The FLEX Grant Program provides funding to states to assist Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs). Current grant guidelines allow assistance in the following areas:
- Quality Improvement
- Financial and Operational Improvement
- Population Health Management and Emergency Medical Services Integration
- CAH Designation
- Integration of Innovative Health Care Models
Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) are acute care hospital facilities that have applied for and received official designation as a CAH from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). For additional information on the requirements of CAHs please see the CMS CAH Fact Sheet.
