The Mississippi Bureau of EMS is the agency that regulates and enforces all rules associated with Emergency Medical Care and Transport of Mississippi's sick and injured. They are responsible for licenses, reviewing course and curriculum materials, complaint investigations as well as technical assistance to hospitals, EMT candidates and others interested in the emergency care system in Mississippi.
Mississippi accepts the NREMT (National Registry) Exam as proof that the EMT candidate has the appropriate levels of knowledge with regard to emergency medicine. Information on National Registry Emergency Medical Services Personnel testing, applications, processes for testing, and test dates are available on-line, by a phone call to the Bureau of EMS (601-576-7380) requesting information, or by visiting the EMS State office.
