Jackson, Miss. — The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has released a new episode of its Health Talk MS podcast that focuses on the 2025 Public Health Report Card.
Host Greg Flynn sits down with State Health Officer Dr. Dan Edney to talk about the good, the bad and the challenges we face in the state. Obesity remains an overarching problem that contributes to several other severe diseases, such as heart disease, hypertension and diabetes, that plague Mississippians. Improving Maternal and Infant Mortality rates is part of the formula to help the state grow both in population and prosperity.
Dr. Edney talks about solutions and groundbreaking work that MSDH has in the works for 2026 to help Mississippians live longer, healthier lives.
You can find the Health Talk MS podcast on the MSDH YouTube channel, youtube.com/@HealthyMississippi, and the following platforms: Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Deezer, Jiosaavn, and Podcast Index.
The goal of the monthly podcast, produced in partnership with Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB), is to empower everyone with the tools to lead healthier lives.
