Mississippi Health Alert Network (MS-HAN)

The Mississippi Health Alert Network (MS-HAN) is the State of Mississippi's electronic notification system that serves as a method of rapid communication to health care professionals and hospitals in the state, providing information about urgent public health incidents that could impact the health and safety of Mississippians.

Who can participate in the MS-HAN?

MS-HAN participants may be health professional or key personnel in health-related organizations. We currently reach:

  • hospitals
  • health care providers
  • public health professionals
  • long-term care facilities
  • emergency management organizations
  • other crucial points of contact in Mississippi

How do I sign up to receive MS-HAN notices?

Contact an MS-HAN Coordinator via email at hanhelp@msdh.ms.gov to determine whether you are eligible for an MS-HAN account. If eligible, visit the MS-HAN website at hanms.org to register. (Please make sure the organization Mississippi Health Alert Network is selected during your registration.) Once your account has been reviewed and approved, you will begin receiving alerts and advisories. Remember to set your e-mail system to accept messages from hanms.org to avoid missing notifications.

Receiving MS-HAN notices

Alerts and advisories are sent based on the type of notice and your role, organization and location. When you register, you can select your preferred means of notification: phone, fax, e-mail, text message or pager. Recent MS-HAN notices are also available online.
