Background
Before joining MSDH in 2019, Melody Winston served as the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Services for the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. She has also served on the Governor’s Opioid and Heroin Study Task Force, the Attorney General’s Mental Health Task Force, and the Mississippi State Drug Courts Advisory Committee. Ms. Winston has over 24 years of experience working in the behavioral health field in various capacities.
Ms. Winston received a Master’s degree in Counselor Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Mississippi State University.
