Background

Meg Pearson holds a Master of Science Degree in Preventive Health and a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, both from the University of Mississippi. Since 2003, Dr. Pearson has served as the Director of the Public Health Pharmacy with oversight of medication dispensing and coordination of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. She serves on a number of workgroups and committees for the Mississippi State Department of Health. From 2003 to 2010 she served in the MSDH Office of Emergency Planning and Response, where she was responsible for public health emergency planning and ensuring continuity of the pharmaceutical supply chain during emergencies. She has played key roles in the Department of Health's Katrina relief efforts, the 2009 Novel H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine readiness program, and maintenance of the state's strategic stockpiles of medicines and vaccines.
