Hepatitis A, B and C

Hepatitis is a common viral disease of the liver that can cause a range of symptoms from mild illness to severe liver damage.

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is usually the result of poor hygiene, spreading through contact with blood or stool. It causes short-term illness lasting a few weeks.

Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is usually spread by sexual contact or sharing needles for injected drugs. It can cause both short-term and lifelong illness.

Hepatitis C spreads by blood from an infected person through contaminated needles in tattooing or drug injection, or through sexual contact. It can cause both short-term and lifelong illness.
