Water system officials notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a boil water alert issued for City of Bay St. Louis.

Customers affected: This notice affects 18 connection on our drinking water system on the 400th block of Washington St.

This is a precautionary notice. This notice is the result ofreplacing a fire hydrant on the water system.

Residents will be notified by the water system when the advisory is lifted. For more information, customers may contact their water system at 228.467.5505.


City of Bay St. Louis has issued a Boil-Water Alert for customers who receive their drinking water from their water supply located in Hancock County.

When a distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water. Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
