Water system officials have notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a boil water alert issued for the Rawls Springs Utility District.

Customers affected: Pitts Road from the intersection of Rawls Springs Loop Road to Lakewood subdivision. This includes all of Lakewood Subdivision, Suggs, Brantley, Forrest, North Haven, Pine St, Oak St, and Magnolia St. 

This is a precautionary notice. Residents will be notified immediately by the water system when the advisory is lifted. For more information customers may contact their Rawls Springs Utility District at 601.268.2248.


Rawls Springs Utility District has issued a Boil-Water Alert for customers who receive their drinking water from their water supply located in Forrest County.

When a distribution system loses pressure, contaminants can siphon back into the water. Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure contaminated until tests prove otherwise. Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed.
