Background
Kathy G. Burk became the MSDH Director of Health Services after serving at the Department as director of the Women, Infants and Children's Nutrition Program since 2003. Burk, a certified public manager, has over 30 years of experience in MS state government. She received a bachelor's degree in Social Work from MS University for Women and a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi. Burk also completed the South Central Public Health Leadership Institute through Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
