Leslie has 12 years of service at the State Department of Health as a Regional Engineer, an Engineering Coordinator, Director of the Bureau of Public Water Supply, and most recently as Director of the Office of Environmental Health. Prior to her employment with MSDH, she spent 11 years at the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality conducting air and surface water permitting and compliance activities under the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act. Leslie is registered as a Professional Engineer by the Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and is board-certified as an Environmental Engineer by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. She is a member of the Association of Food and Drug Officials of the Southern States and the Mississippi Public Health Association, and serves on the oral exam panel for the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. Leslie represents MSDH on the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality’s Permit Board. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, a Master's in Environmental Engineering, and holds a Certificate of Public Management from the Mississippi State Personnel Board.
