I ate at Mugshots for lunch in mid-April, 2013.I have enjoyed my experiences there in the past but this visit to the restaurant not like ones in the past. Upon entering the restaurant I saw the host in the back of the store conversing with a group of other employees. He looked up, saw me standing there, and continued his conversation with his co-workers. I waited for him to seat me. I should have walked out the door then. The restaurant was dirty; the floor appeared to have not been swept for several days, I could see greasy hand prints on the backs of the booths, and the ladies rest room was nasty. It looked and smelled as if it had not been cleaned for many days. The surface and lining of the plastic table cloths are separating and tearing and are a harbor for germ collection. I was seated in a booth next to stairs going up to a second dining area. The stair molding was filthy and debris filtered down to the table where I was seated. In general I wanted to turn around and run out. I made the mistake of complaining to the server about the condition of the restaurant before I ordered my lunch; after eating I had diarrhea for 2 days. Coincidence? I see signs in the store that Mugshots has been awarded best burger of the year for several years by Mississippi Magazine. Maybe the owner of Mugshots is related to the owner of Mississippi Magazine? Surely people who care about what they eat would think twice about eating at Mugshots.
