Bureau of Public Water Supply
The Public Water Supply Program ensures safe drinking water to the 2.8 million citizens of Mississippi who utilize the state's public water supplies by strictly enforcing the requirements of the Federal and State Safe Drinking Water Acts (SDWAs).
The Public Water Supply Program is implemented through five major programmatic areas:
The Public Water Supply Program also provides all administrative support necessary to manage the State Drinking Water Revolving Fund Loan Program, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding associated with Lead Service Line Replacement, Emerging Contaminants, and the additional Supplemental Funding. The Bureau also provides administrative support for the Rural Water Associations Infrastructure Grant Program (RWAIG) provided through the American Rescue Plan Act.
